Micro-course structure
Learners are required to complete three micro-courses in preparation for the assessment.
Micro 1: Writing for business success
Writing for Success is a free micro open online course (mOOC). In this course you will learn how the communication process, messages, and audiences are interrelated in business communications, and develop skills, habits and strategies that support successful writing in various business communication formats and contexts. You will also learn about differences and similarities between key components of communication in written and oral communication.

- Understand the importance of effective business communication skills.
- Improve their real-world business communication skills.
- Design effective business messages for diverse audiences.
- Become familiar with common business documents.

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:

Micro 2: Creating effective business presentations
Creating effective business presentations is a free micro open online course which supports learners to prepare, organise, create and deliver effective presentations in the corporate sector.

- Provide learners with knowledge and skills to prepare, organize, and create different types of presentations expected in business contexts.
- Teach learners various strategies to overcome common communication barriers and use nonverbal techniques.
- Prepare learners to deliver effective presentations for diverse audiences.

Micro 3: Intercultural communication, teamwork and leadership
Intercultural communication, teamwork and leadership is a free micro open online course (mOOC) which applies the basic principles of effective communication to intercultural communication in challenging business situations, like constructive feedback, conflict negotiation, and crisis management. Diversity brings multiple perspectives that often spark team creativity. Yet, different expectations, values and behaviours spark personal reactivity too, and in unexpected ways. Learning about the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and experiences that support intercultural communication is necessary for effective communication in diverse work groups, teams, and organizations.
