OERNZ aims to identify at least one WikiAmbassador for every school in New Zealand. Help us achieve our target of 150 Ambassadors by 30 June 2010.
OERNZ WikiAmbassadors are people who have a passion to widen access to quality education through open networks and free content. They identify themselves within the New Zealand OERNZ community and keep local colleagues informed of national developments, as well as profiling their ambassadorial activities our community.
WikiAmbassadors are the first point of contact for OERNZ in local schools. They focus on connecting "disconnected" colleagues with our national online OERNZ activities and distribute a print-version of the OERNZ News to colleagues and friends who may not be connected.
WikiAmbassador's provide inspiration and support for teachers wanting to test the wiki-waters and free sharing of knowledge. To become a OERNZ WikiAmbassador you need to meet the following criteria:
- Have a passion for education
- Have a disposition to experiment with the potential of ICT-enabled education
- Be prepared to make mistakes and learn from them
- Be open to new ideas and willing to share your experiences with your local community and colleagues
- Have achieved basic a minimum of a WikiApprentice Level 2 certification on our WikiMaster typology.
- Above all, believe in the core value of education, namely to share knowledge freely!
