The CollabOERate logo is inspired by the colours of the five rings of the Olympic flag to symbolise collaboration across the five continents. The six colours used in  the Olympic flag  also stress the importance of local because the Olympic colours are "those that appear on all the national flags of the world at the present time"[1].
