Introduction/Rationale
As your world continues to expand with new experiences and additional opportunities for learning and self-development, occasions do arise when you are required to speak publicly. Whether the group is large or small, the setting is formal or informal, the request and decision to speak impromtu or planned, there are basic guidelines which will help you to prepare and present your speech. Since the aim of communication is to send a message to the listener(s), it is important to recognize all elements in the public speaking process and respond appropriately, in order to achieve the purpose of the speech.
