What mechanisms would you suggest to monitor and promote quality in the education materials we develop in WE?

I am not too sure I like the idea of quality control given its inherent power differentiation. I would rather like to consider the issue of quality assurance. I will get back to this page.

Quality Control

  • Collaborative editing by the subject expert.
  • Clear criteria defining "quality"

Quality Assurance

  • Build monitoring and evaluation activities into the project planning

Learning about Quality through Online Mentoring

  • In order to avoid the dangers of performativity as discussed by educational sociologists, I suggest deploying online mentors to teach novices about quality and learn by doing, rather than have a framework imposed. It has to be part of the Wikieducator's induction into the community.
