Kia ora no tatau,

I have a background in Computer Information Science and Technology specializing in bilingual, bi-cultural and bi-literate learning and teaching systems spanning 15 years. Much of my early training and development was undertaken using Open source platforms, applications and tools. I have developed (in collaboration with many individuals and groups) resources to enhance and improve the user experience with the Māori language; from macron keyboards and drivers, spell checkers, dictionaries, translators, language acquisition and analysis, to Māori speech synthesis and recognition. My vision for an Aotearoa/New Zealand OER will include resources and practises that reflect 'te reo, tikanga and mātauranga' (Māori language, customary practices and knowledge systems).
