FolkJam Ottawa/Performers/Invitation Letter

Hi,

We (my wife Debra and I) are starting a new group - FolkJam Ottawa - www.folkjamottawa.org - which is essentially a grassroots music and entertainment showcase, for different cultures and musical / performance genres. I love music, and bringing people together, and sharing meaningful connections...So, FolkJam seems like a good idea.

The plan is to start small (in our home) and then grow to a larger venue, when we have the support of a core group of people, and local performers. (I did this type of venture before, for the Vancouver Downtown Jewish Community in 2005).

At this point, we are looking for suggestions for performers -- they can be good amateurs, semi-professional, or from time to time, professional. We ask that each person perform for 3 songs, or 10 min. There is no payment for their performance, however, we will likely charge a nominal cover charge, with the proceeds going to a local charity, selected in advance.

  • Would you know of anyone who has some talents to share? (i.e., name, instrument, genre, contact/email info)


In return, we can provide a nice time for the performers, including significant exposure / profile on our WikiEducator website space (in the top 87,000 websites in the world), and opportunities for national and international connections.
