Objective

To provide students with an introduction to the range of native New Zealand Fauna

Activity

Research a given native New Zealand animal and prepare an interesting and informative 5 minute presentation on that animal.  The presentation will be given to the rest of the class. 

Task

You will be given an animal to research.  You must prepare an interesting and informative 5 minute presentation on that animal.  Your audience is a group of enthusiastic tourists with an interest in the natural history of New Zealand.  Carefully consider what sort of information this group of individuals would like to hear.

Your presentation should include

• Photographs
• Interesting facts that will engage your audience
• Maori myths and legends (where relevant)
