Next steps

Annual targets:

(mandated by the MOE)

  • To increase the number of students achieving at or above the level of the National Standard for mathematics
  • To improve the students level of mathematical problem solving skills and basic facts knowledge
    • Analysis of data in 2011 identified students were not achieving to the same level in maths as they were in reading and writing
    • Teachers’ reflection on mathematics indicated that basic facts and problem solving were areas of concern

2012 goals:

  1. To complete the playground development
  2. Improve school data analysis to
    • Share data with the school community
    • To assist in recognizing trends in
      • Learning
      • Special abilities
      • Potential care issues
  3. Use management unit to create professional development on:
  • Teaching goals will reflect school goals
  • EOTC forms laminated
  • Cybersafety
  • Hazards - chemicals, plant, machinery, harassment, custodial agreements
  • KI O RAHI
  • Use of calendar for policy/procedures review
  • Sound files for Waiata/Whakatauki added to wiki
  • Curriculum policy?
  • Marae visit and Maori Community consultation
