Warrington School's Open Education Initiative - aims for:

  • Transparency - hoping our ideas will be copied, our mistakes learnt from and advice offered for our continued improvement

Annual targets:

  • To improve the students level of writing by:
  1. Analysing moderated student writing samples looking for patterns of strengths and weaknesses
  2. Undertaking in school professional development using the school's management unit to lead this
  3. Analysing moderated student writing samples in November

2011 goals:

  • Share the Warrington School Curriculum Overview with the community
  • Improve the school target with a focus on student achievement data
  • Use management unit to create professional development on:
  • Teaching goals will reflect school goals
  • Review appraisal, EOTC forms, Cybersafety, Hazards - chemicals, plant, machinery, harassment, custodial agreements
  • Creating a common understanding for recognising our gifted and talented
  • KI O RAHI
  • Use of calendar for policy/procedures review
  • Annual report - February - create wiki sample
  • Sound files for Waiata/Whakatauki added to wiki
  • Paraphrasing learning styles
  • Virtues list and details
  • Curriculum policy?
  • Marae visit and Maori Community consultation
