My topic for the midterm was "eradicating extreme poverty and hungry." I picked this topic because I felt it was one that required the most pressing solution and required action as soon as possible. With increasing populations all over the world, we are expected to have a enormous food shortage in many developing nations. The growing populations and poverty in many of these nations with the largest population growth will result in more hunger problems in these developing countries. The solution to the hunger and poverty problem in the world is not simple or easy. It requires a global effort to produce more food for developing countries, monitor population growth as to avoid famines, and an international consciousness that poverty is a world problem and not a problem of a few nations. Poverty and hunger are closely related. By increasing international trade and investment in third world countries, we can increase the GDP of many of these developing countries and also introduce new customers and industries for large companies. This is will overall increase the flow of monetary wealth throughout the world and help reduce poverty in many places
