Hi I'm currently teaching at Alfriston College in Manurewa South Auckland. There are a few of us experimenting with wiki's but I have not been consistent with using it so am keen to try to work out how to use it more collaboratively to share ideas with staff and learners.
(: Hey Lynda - maybe we should request a wikitaster session for AC on one of the teacher only days -what do you think?--Faye Booker 08:41, 30 April 2010 (UTC). )
I have been a teacher for 20 years now so I guess I'm pretty passionate about education.
I trained as a teacher back in the 80's in Canterbury and have completed a Masters in Education Admin part time and finsihed that a couple of years ago.
I enjoy physical challenges and have recently taken up some adventure racing, although more about completing than the time trial stuff.I also enjoy gardening and have enjoyed watching our tropical garden flourish.
education and the place of learning in the 21st century
more recently I have been thinking about the role of wikis and such as tools for collaborative learning so hence my interest here
I am married with 2 kids, one of each
my to do list
- experiment with this
- try new things
- complete parts every day
- talk to others at school
- share in discussions
- pay bills
- pick up kids after training
