UNIT 1: PHYSICAL RESOURCES: RENEWABLE AND NON-RENEWABLE
LESSON 1
From the title of the unit you will have observed that we will be taking a closer look at Physical Resources. The word resource may be a bit familiar to you. You may have used it, or heard it used in conversation, or you may have seen it in reading.
From your experience write what you think is an appropriate definition of the word resource.
You can compare what you have written with the definition given on page 130 of your CSEC study guide.
For the purposes of this unit when the word resource is used it will refer to anything that is of value or that is useful to man. We will focus particularly on renewable and non-renewable resources. As we go thrtough this lesson you will be required to do specific activities which will not only help in your understanding of this topic but which you will find quite enjoyable.
