  • I choose this topic because I think this course is going to talk a lots about the impact that internet has on our society right now. The article show how useful the internet is to society and people using it increase everyday. Internet help us connect with other like friends, family, co-worker to exchange messages or share pictures. People not just use internet to share or exchange information, some use it to inform other about current events or create a group of people that has the same mindset to come together and create something even more amazing. I feel like internet taking us to the right direction and I am interested how far will internet take us to in the near future.

  • This article talk about 20 basic rules, posted by Jinah Jang. I like this article because this is a common knowledge for everyone that on the net should know. If everyone on the net talking without thinking about other people feeling on the other side, other will get hurt by it. One rule that I think everyone should follow is "Use proper grammar and spelling," when you write something you want other to understand because other people are not learning the language you write as their first language.
• Children growing weaker as computer replace outdoor activity - Own research
  • This is one of the truth to our society right now. Children, some adult are staying inside their house and do less exercise than before, this make them weaker. Compare to the data from few years ago like in 2008, arm strength, height, weight are getting worse. I think that, people should encourage their child to do a little bit of exercise if they hate gym and spend sometime with them, you can spend time with them through internet (if you're far away) and be a good role model.

They explain how did you left digital footprint behind when you go online. There are many ways to protect yourself from all of the people that try to gain benefit from you. I like this article because there are many good tips from this article and some of them I never knew about. Everyone should know about this, it's risky to left yourself unprotect.

  • This posted by Nicholas Reed. This article mostly talk about how AT&T wiretapped people and AT&T said it was for mass data collection purpose that ordered by NASA. First of all, I just want to say that this is wrong, doing something against other privacy without them knowing is not permitted by laws and it's very rude to not respect other people privacy. I think the company should get fined( millions of dollars),so they won't do it again in the future. This article is very sad, because people don't give other respect and try to go against their privacy.

  • Talking about invade privacy, this anti-virus take it to another level. This company let you use their software but in return they will collect some information from you that benefit them. It's like you have some, I have some. What will they do to those information, you ask? They will sell those information to the 3rd party, that's why you see the ads fly around when you go to some website. They sell to those company and those company will show the ads that you need or want. I think, it's not bad if they show me what I need but the part that they collect my data make me feel not safe.

  • Copyright laws is a good for the content creator or any inventor that want to share their works with people. This law let them own their things and no one can steal it from them. Youtube is also has a copyright rule that help video maker to have the right own their video and no one can steal it from them. Now when you can stream all the movie and video online, those rule doesn't mean much. Many people complaint about it since other people steal their work and they didn't get any paid for it. Everyone should know that, these people earn their income from this and to show appreciation for their work, they shouldn't steal from them.

Copyright allow the creator to share their work with other people without worry about people steal their hard work. I like how common creative work, it's allow people to use the creator work without telling them and they still get the credit for it. I think this article do a good job explaining about copyright, everyone should read and know about it.

  • In the article, they talk about how people steal Game of Throne and stream it live online so people won't have to buy it to watch. This is a clear violation of copyright laws. Streaming it online make it available to everyone that want to watch it to record it and watch it later. Some people post the record video and share it all over the web, this make Game of Throne's creator lost their profits and this show that we really need a good laws to control this right now before it too late. I think people should respect other people work and buy it instead of stealing it or wait for it to come out on TV or some stream site that follow the copyright laws.

  • This article talking about how to protect your computer from hacker that try to steal information or do bad things to your computer. To protect yourself, you shouldn't install programs that you don't need or trust, use anti-virus, update your software, delete spam email or the one that can't be trust, don't click on random ads and many others things but it's not very important. You should all things that list above to prevent anything bad from happen to you. I think this is a very clear explanation about computer security article, everyone should know about this.

  • This website tell about big 5 crimes that happen and will or will not happen again in the future. In all of those crimes, I saw 2 that stand out the most Malware and Spam. Malware and spam happening everyday and will not stop anytime soon. You're the only one that can stop all those things from happening to you. The first step to stop malware is to not install any programs that you don't trust and read carefully before you install anything, to stop spam you have to install ads block and block all the spam ads. You can block all those ads but you shouldn't use ads block on website that run ads to benefit them because they do it for living, the best way is to buy subscription (if they have one) to stop ads.
• Apple got infect by malware - Own research
  • Few months ago, apple got infected by the malware that cause many many problems to some app, and force those up to push update to keep themselves safe. In the article they said, those files came from china, the article said that those user download their app from 3rd party site and those site steal the information and put a malware into it. I think everyone should avoid try to download 3rd party app as much as they can,because sometime those apps are not safe. In china due to the situation, like it's not fast enough when they download directly from the app store, that's why they were force to download from 3rd party site.

  • This article explaining everything about online learning, not just online learning they also explain the advantage of it and disadvantage of it. There are advantage and disadvantage to everything in the world, some just big or small. The advantage of learning online are: can learn anywhere, fast, cheap, can do anything while learning, make more time to do part time job or full time, no expensive book fee. The disadvantage that didn't have in the article are: you won't be able to work people in person, lost the traditional way of learning and you won't be able to communicate much with teacher. or classmate.

  • If people can think like those people in the article when they value education and turn into something that they enjoy doing it, the world will become a better place to live and everyone will understand and respect people just like they want them to be respect by other people. When that happen, I can imagine human do many great things like: find a better way of living, no wars, and improve many things on earth or explore other planet not far from our reach. I think everyone should try to learn as much as they can and not over do it, because learning is not to everyone liking. I like the ideas turn education into something fun but it's not that easy to do.

  • The article is informative about history of learning Online. There are many university that did experiment on online learning, most of those are successful and proved that online learning is the new way to surpass the old traditional style of learning. Online learning show more benefits and advantage than disadvantage. I can see that in the future online learning will become huge and old traditional of learning will not successful anymore. People want flexible schedule and choices, online learning is the best way to go with. I think high school should have some programs that involve online learning to test the students before they let online learning to replace the old style.

6. Midterm- Millennium Development Goal

  • Virtual Reality (VR) is the hot topic right now for gamer, learner, educator, doctor, almost everyone thrill about this new next big thing. VR can make many things become a reality and those things are very beneficial and good for mankind. Doctor can use VR to do practice for their new doctor, they can practice on surgery and many other things. Gaming is like the big thing if VR can advance even further, you can "physically" go into the game, everyone want to live in their fantasy world. Oculus Rift can make those things become a reality, this technology not only limited to gamer or doctor, anyone can use it. Virtual reality will take us to the future and make many things more advance. I'm thrill to see how will virtual reality come out in the future.
• Leap motion - Midterm
  • This is one of the futurism technology that we hope to make soon. This project inspire from many movie that we saw, like Star Trek and Firefly's holographic brain scanner. These project is to make us feel like everything that around us we can control by finger, not feel like it but make it reality. If they want to make this dream become more reality, they have to work on and understand many things like, what is virtual reality and what do they intent to do with it, what is the virtual space around us. They need to understand all those things and they need to create many more programs that detect the environment around us. I think this is a good project and do believe this will become reality soon.
• Experiment - Midterm
  • This is a medical experiment that use the Kinect motion capture to train people that has stroke with lower limb dysfunction. Doctor and scientist hope to gain a good result from this experiment and hope that this will help those dysfunction to gain their ability back like normal people. The experiment was consider a success. The patients that participate in that experiment manage to bring make their sense in their arm and doctor hope that this will help cure those patients. I personally think this is a good experiment and one step further to cure the lower limb dysfunction. I saw people with this lower limb dysfunction, It's very hard to live because they can't use their arm very well.

  • In this video show that people living wasting their life because they let technology control them, they feel like they lost the value time that they should spend with their family not on their phone. People use too much technology and make them forget about their family or friends around them. I think that use technology is not a bad, but if you over use it will become bad.

I think that AI has the possibility to surpass human if we make them to do so.

  • This article talking about futurist of AI. The AI so smart that it doesn't need human to control it, it is really possible to make it ? yes it is but it require a lot of work and many things will need to change, but we might not able to control it. What if the AI won't listen to us and follow their own coding rule(brain)? That might be a problems. We can easily say, AI is just AI, they will never make their own judgement. I think AI will soon have their own rule to follow or their own brain if anyone can spend hours and hours to write all those code and have the understanding about human brain. They will make it happen but it won't happen so easily and it won't take over earth like in some movie if human the one that write those programs for AI.

People think it's normal to have ethical from the doctor but not from IT professional, because IT profession have not been codified into laws or anything other association that establish code of ethic. It's slowly being addressed by other people and other associations. I think IT profession should get more recognize more by people. It's a tough job and important just like doctor or anything other jobs.

If you want to use computer in a safe way and good behavior, this is an easy tips to follow and keep it clean. This steps are very basic, even some people with limited knowledge of computer can follow. I think there are 3 tips that very important to follow in there: use firewall, update software, use protective software. Those 3 steps can easily keep your computer safe from anything that will happen.

If you lose your smartphone use GPS or some other tracker app to track your phone. I think this is a good article and informative on the safety.
