Social Media Survey

  1. Select a community that uses a given social media tool to interact with.
  2. Note basic operations, activities, and other aspects of the tool that provide for interaction.
  3. Find a different community (either a different one using the same tool or a similar community that chooses to use a different, but similar, tool.
  4. Note basic operations, activities, and other aspects of the second tool (or group) that contrast or align with counterparts in the first tool (group).
  5. Note distinct operations, activities, or aspects of each group (attending to features of one group that have no counterpart in the other group).
  6. Repeat steps 3-5, until your total observations are greater than 40. You can calculate this number by multiplying the features by the number of groups or tools compared.
