Global Governance Activity Four (Extension Activity)

Assessment Task Option J

Select a global governance institution that we have not yet explored as part of this course, and introduce it to your peers.

Who are the members of this institution? What is its purpose and what are its functions? Is it known for adopting particular standpoints or attracting controversy in certain areas?

Examples of institutions you may select include: the Organization of American States, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, Alliance of Small Island States, Economic Community of West African States, Arab League, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, or your own appropriate selection. (If you are unsure whether your choice is appropriate, please contact your tutor for advice).

You may choose to complete this task as a blog (approximately 500 words), as a video presentation (approximately 2 mins), an audio presentation (approximately 2 mins), a powerpoint presentation or by creating a website. For more information on how to prepare the task in your chosen format, please see the assessment tab under the 'About' menu at the top of the screen.

When you have completed the task and posted it online, be sure to send out a tweet to advise your peers. You may also like to review the posts of other students to learn more about global governance institutions.
