Even translating software user interfaces is regarded as more complex than this section suggests. For example, the following might be relevant:

• Back-translation (a technique used to check quality of translations)
• Accreditation of translators - may become important when a community of translators does the job.
• Tools
  • Software UI translation:
    • poedit
    • KBabel
    • Launchpad's translation tools
    • gtranslator
    • Pootle,
    • etc..
  • Content translation (often built into the framework/CMS, e.g. ...):
    • LinguaPlone (a Plone add-on product)
    • etc.

How many of these tools and techniques could be useful for OER translation? What cautionary notes/caveats are relevant wrt auto-translation tools? etc.
