Welcome to Session 3 of the Learning pathways on “The Disease”:  Part 1 and Part 2

These instructions are for Thursday 22 to Monday 26 March 2018. If you have just joined us, you will find copies of the instructions for the previous session on the course site.

Recap

In the previous session you focused on how to live well with dementia: Part 1 and Part 2 as a discipline including the project life cycle, phases of a project and the main approaches and methodologies.

Instructions for this session

In this session we are going learn about Alzheimer Disease; the most common form of dementia. We will provide information on

  • The stages of Alzheimer disease and how it influences one’s life journey
  • The common signs and symptoms - each journey is unique
  • Other related dementias
  • Changes in the brain with Alzheimer disease
  • Lifestyle and risk factors
  • The importance of early diagnosis
