# LESSON 6:EQUATIONS INVOLVING LOGARITHMS

From WikiEducator

# Introduction

In your previous Lesson, you discussed the concept of logarithms and the laws of logarithms. You are now going to relate the knowledge acquired to solve equations involving logarithms. In effect you are going to apply the laws of logarithms in solving equations involving logarithms

Objectives

By the end of the lesson,you will be able to:
Identify equations that require the use of logarithms. Solve equations involving variables that are indices |

## Lesson Content

Let us consider an equation like
5^{x}=10
Apply the third law of log to make x the subject of the equation.
Take log of both sides.
log5^{x}=log10
xlog5=log10
x=log10/log5
x=1/0.6990
