GeoArt is moving geometrical constructions
GeoArt is created using using [GeoSketchPad.] It is the creative construction of moving images using mathematical transformations (reflection, rotation, enlargement, translation). For example: Bikes that move with wheels going around, ferris wheels, balls bouncing using simple harmonic motion. This allows students to be creative and use prior knowledge to develop their own mathematical creation. The unit is stored in the clouds at www.geoart.wikispaces.com and can be downloaded by interested teachers. Video instructions as well as the Geometer Sketchpad files are available to help get people started.
