Welcome to this mini-course on Open Education Practices. If you are aware of or have experience dealing with OERs and are interested in seeing how they can be incorporated into regular course development at your institution, this course is for you. Indeed, it is for anyone who appreciates the potential value of OER and would like to have institutional policies implemented so that OERs become an integral part of program development. The implementation of an institution-wide plan for implementing OEPs could result in, for example, having training workshops on educational practices or course design, or obtaining resources and support for the use of communication tools for online courses. While OEPs include a broad range of topics, this course will begin with an introduction to the topic and then move on to the more specific topics of Open scholarship, Open policy, Open source software, and Open teaching. Once you complete the course, and if you are interested in learning more about Open Educational Practices, you can... (What can they do? If there is no real answer, I'll just say that we encourage them to do more research on OEPs according to their own institution's needs.)
