Invitation to help develop the FAQ page

As an open education initiative, the OERu works with learners and the community to develop and improve our course materials collaboratively. We use the pilot offering of OERu courses as an authentic opportunity to develop the frequently asked questions page (FAQs) for future iterations of the course.

Please help us in developing the FAQ page by posting any questions (and prospective answers) you recommend for inclusion based on your experience of the wiki skills learning pathway. Login to WikiEducator and post your questions on the source page in the wiki. Yes, this site was developed using a wiki and you can help to improve the course site for future iterations.

How can I monitor changes to the pages I author in the wiki?

Publishing learning materials in a wiki can be daunting for new editors for fear of unwanted changes. However, you have the power to revert any edit. Also, the wiki convention is to discuss substantive changes on the corresponding talk page before making any changes. When logged into WikiEducator, you can add any page onto your personal "watchlist". At the top of your screen you will see a star when logged in. Click on the star and the page will be added to your watchlist. Furthermore you can set your Preferences to email you when changes are made to pages on your watchlist. From your Preferences page, find the email confirmation section (make sure you have confirmed your email account) and check the option "Email me when a page or file on my watchlist is changed". WikiEducator will send you email notifications to a confirmed email address when any changes are made to pages you have specified on your watchlist.

Could my question appear here?

Yes, your question and our community developed response could appear here. Don't be missed by your absence.
