Invitation to help develop the FAQ page

As an open education initiative, the OERu works with learners and the community to develop and improve our course materials collaboratively. We use the pilot offering of OERu courses as an authentic opportunity to develop the frequently asked questions page (FAQs) for future iterations of the course.

Please help us in developing the FAQ page by posting any questions (and prospective answers) you recommend for inclusion based on your experience of the wiki skills learning pathway. Login to WikiEducator and post your questions on the source page in the wiki. Yes, this site was developed using a wiki and you can help to improve the course site for future iterations.

Wouldn't it be better to develop the design blueprint before publishing a course description?

Yes, some designers and developers will prefer working on a design blueprint before attempting a course description. In open design, there is no predetermined sequence and the model is highly iterative and incremental. Open design can be likened to the Cathedral and Bazaar tensions between top-down versus bottom-up design in software development. Open development of courses can accommodate more iterative design approaches, where for example, the course descriptions could evolve in parallel with the blueprinting process because both are simultaneously available for feedback, comment and rapid iterations. Start at the point which makes sense in your local context and personal preferences and experience. In the real world these two processes do not happen in isolation or sequentially.
