Very interesting way of explaining "backcasting". It impresses more the need to find the "why" category of a team to work with. People who believe in why you do what you do and want to be part of it.

#CSF103 Very interesting points on partnering with people who believe in your "why" and the explanation on the risks of hiring the "what"category of employees versus the "why" category of employees.

In my view, Simon's most important message is a community (or sector of the community) needs to share similar goals in order to work cohesively towards them. Getting towards a shared destination. Goals need to be sufficiently defined to allow planning and strategy to be evaluated and implemented.

What is a vision: Become authentic - let our actions truly reflect our beliefs. Become realistic - aware that goals, baseline assessment and strategy are interconnected. Become equal - a new era of equality where people and the environment are respected.

Start with why is such a powerful message eh. My why is quite clear. To facilitate socio-ecolgical transformation. Whats yours?

What is a vision: Simon Sinek argues powerfully that inspired leaders communicate from the inside out - i.e they start with 'why' you do it rather than 'what' you do. "People don't buy what you do they buy why you do it."
