Designing activities

For each activity you will need to develop clear instructions to the learner and the facilitator. It is important that you pitch your activities at an appropriate level for the learner. Understanding your learner cohort and their existing skills and experience is essential. If you pitch the activity at too high of a level, or too low of a level you will lose the engagement of an adult learner.

Designing presentations

When designing a presentation as an activity, you should carefully plan what you are asking the learner to do. Are they to complete a quiz, a forum or a reflection after the presentation? If so, make sure that they know this before they watch it by introducing the activity. Before you start creating a presentation, you should plan the content including:

  • A scenario or outline of the content you are presenting
  • Text for each slide
  • Images (make sure that you reference all images in your content).
