Proposed development and delivery approach
The course will be put together using materials from current OERs. Students will be encouraged to discover more about the social and cultural context in which these board games existed. After an initial period of familiarisation with the rules of the board games there will then be an emphasis on "learning by doing". First of all, by making the board games and then by playing them.
As students become more familiar with the games then they will be encouraged to share any tips and hints they may have via the wiki and other social media.
Assessment strategy
Once students have demonstrated their knowledge of these games but uploading a picture of the game they have created and by posting some hints and tips to help others to play the games then they will be awarded a digital badge.
Interaction strategies
- Students will be encouraged to play board games with friends/family/colleagues
- Students will be encouraged to share any strategies they have developed for playing the board games via the wiki and social media.
