This course recognises the knowledge and skills required as a base for further training in the tourism industry. The compulsory unit standards ensures people awarded with the National Certificate in Tourism (Level 2) qualification are able to demonstrate knowledge of tourist characteristics and needs, the business of tourism, destination New Zealand, world tourist destinations and work roles in tourism.
