Instagram Posting & Social Media Policies

The class will connect on Instagram (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.using the class hashtag. The purpose of this assignment is to get you thinking about how and what we communicate about ourselves on social media. We will also think about the affordances of Instagram as a platform – what can we and what can we not do in this medium.

You will be required to post at least four times a week: one initial post and three responses to your classmates. The Instagram postings will be due by day, 11 p.m., in any weeks where an Instagram Posting has been assigned. The Instagram postings will be graded, collectively, two times a semester based on the Instagram Postings Discussion Rubric.Preview the document

Please start a new "classroom" Instagram account for the class even if you already have an Instagram account. You can keep your profile private, but in that case you have to make sure that I (the instructor) and your classmates can follow you and view your posts.

You are not required to follow me, but you have to inform me of your Instagram account name so that I can make sure that you complete the assignments. If I “like” your post it means that I have seen and approved of it.

Students are also responsible for following the Social Media Policies for this course, which can be found in the Course Information Module. Please also sign the Photo Release formPreview the document and return to the instructor in-class.

Important! After creating a new Instagram account, each student should post their Name and Instagram Account Name in the table below.
