What is a blog?

A Blog (short for weblog) is a page on the internet which has commonly been created by using free authoring software. This software removes the need for the author to know how to write in HTML code. Some examples of this free software are: Wordpress.com, Blogger.com. People write about anything and everything! It is possible to display photo's, videos, audios etc. in your blog. The younger generation are now using blogsites such as Bebo.com, Myspace.com or Facebook.com to advertise their presence to the world and "make friends". Blogs are often used as learning or travel journals. Other people can post comments to your blog so they can be used for social networking.
