Welcome to Digital Accessibility as a Business Practice

Welcome to Digital Accessibility as a Business Practice

We are excited to welcome you all to Digital Accessibility as a Business Practice.

Over the next three weeks you will learn together about digital accessibility culture, and how to develop it. We’ve designed the course as a collection of readings, activities, and assessments that will help you build the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to weave digital accessibility into the culture of an organization.

Where to Start:

  • Once you’ve logged into the course, start with the Course Home page, and the Course Start page, where you will find critical details on what to expect.
  • After reading through the course details, take a few moments to introduce yourself in the Introductions Forum, and scan through others introductions to see who your classmates are, and where they are joining the course from.
  • Once you have introduced yourself, move on to Module 1 of the Learning pathways for a Big Picture view of digital accessibility culture.

Module 1 and the Activities for this Week:

In Module 1 we’ll start into the course content with an overview of digital accessibility, and introduce you to the Sharp Clothing Company and the role you will play in the fictional company. We will also introduce you to the Business Cases for Accessibility, and local and international accessibility laws, and wrap up the week with Activity - The One Minute Elevator Pitch to bring together what you have learned this week, and put it to use.

We hope you all find the course interesting and engaging, and that it gives you all you need to enable digital accessibility in the organizations you are a part of.
