Procedures are instructions of the use of the technology Can include

  • Organisational policies on
    • Copyright and Privacy
  • Instructions for use
  • How to use the system
  • Operation of the system (What is the sequence of activities?).
  • What programs to run
  • What data to use
  • What to do with results (eg. How a report is distributed)
  • What to do in the event of system failure
  • How to correct errors
  • Who to contact in case of problems (Help desk?)

Methods

  • As written instructions
  • Computer on-line Help
  • Verbal commands

Auditing/Moderation

To ensure the integrity of the organisational procedures, in large organisations these are usually audited internally and externally. Basically, are the procedures being followed in practice.

For learning courses assessments are usually moderated (reviewed by someone else)
