The values set out above will be encouraged, explored and modelled through curriculum implementation. The key competencies will be an integral part of children's daily school life and learning. They will learn and practise the key competencies as part of the transdisciplinary approach taken in the school. Key competencies will usually be practised in conjunction with other skills, competencies and pedagogies. Learning areas with their respective achievement objectives will provide a deeper level of detail to guide teachers in their planning and practise. Learning areas can be thought of as disciplines and this sense they offer a level of detail and expertise that teachers can use to guide their planning. These will be woven into a transdisciplinary approach where possible or desirable. None of these is optional but what matters is the way in which they are selected and used as part of our transdisciplinary approach.
