GROUP DISCUSSION

Posted on 8/6/19:

It would be really great if everyone could post, as soon as possible. We have two days before this is due and still need to complete our peer reviews. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated. I included my best topics, but I am more than okay with mine not being the one that is chosen to present on our WikiEducator page. - LT

Hi Lorraine! Done and done! Thanks for being so diligent and communicative. :) - JS -- NICE, James!

Oh also! We should come up with a time frame to place our votes and maybe we should have a volunteer to post/edit the final project with the final touches? What is everyone's thoughts on this? -JS

I agree James, I am excited that we have several options for our final project in every section.

I would like to suggest everyone place votes by 12pm tomorrow (8/7/19):, at which point, one of our classmates, (fingers crossed someone volunteers) can post our final project. What does everyone think?

8/7 - Hey Lorraine, I think maybe sometime in the late afternoon for the voting would be best or by the end of today? I have classes all day(going fulltime during summer) so I won't be available until after 5PM for voting and it looks like it's just you and I so far so it would be nice if we could wait for a little more content maybe? - JS

8/7 - Okay, James. I completely understand. Good luck with classes! I will log back on to vote between 4:30 & 5, I hope we have more of a contribution by then, but hey, I am just grateful you have added because otherwise, I wouldn't have a peer to review for the second assignment lol. Have a good one!

8/7 - Hey all. Jim Rice here. I'll try to get all of my links up by later tonight. At work now. I also noticed that our page seems to have been corrupted or data was entered in odd fields. We are missing at least one if not two headings/subjects from both the contents section as well as from the document itself. It also appears that something odd has happened to the top of the page as well. Not quite sure how to clean all that up. Do any of you? - JR

8/7- It's looking like the last person to enter information completely deleted headings 7, & 10. Please be mindful of your work and double-check things as now we have to re-enter information. Thanks for the heads up about that Jim looking forward to your content. I will try to re-add the headings. Also, if you make a mistake there is the back arrow button so remember that is a tool. JS

8/7 - Re-added the main headings, Lorraine you and I need to re-enter our stuff for 7 & 10 as mentioned above. Thanks guys. - JS

8/7 - Thanks for correcting it, JS. I will re-enter my topics for 7 & 10.

8/7 Lorraine T. Votes by sections:

1. James 2. James 3. James 4. Victor 5. Lorraine 6. Mina 7. James 8. Mina 9. Lorraine 10. Victor

8/8 - We are down to the wire guys. Can everyone please vote ASAP and someone remove the options that aren't chosen. We are supposed to have posted our group on "topic 12: Peer review and Feedback." Everyone has done it, but us.

8/8 - Sorry for the delay everyone. I have included one "best source" for each section. This source is the one that I personally believed to be the best when doing my individual assignment. I believe that this would be the easiest way to streamline the voting process. I will be going over each section now and including my votes momentarily. In addition, it seems that there is confusion across all groups about the peer review link. The other groups seem to be including two or more resources or each topic when, if i am reading the instructions correctly, we are to include the best resource (1 resource) only. It also appears that while some groups have the peer review link established they are also still working on the final results. Thoughts? - Jim Rice

Thanks to whoever made added the finishing fancy touches(I'm assuming it was victor so thank you victor) on the main page. I am officially casting my votes: JS

1. Victor 2. Lorraine 3. Victor 4. Victor 5. Me 6. Victor 7. Lorraine 8. Lorraine 9. Me 10. Victor

- JS

I am not sure if you saw my previous note James about voting for the best singular resource in each section. If how i have interpreted the instructions is in fact correct, each group should be picking one resource. Here is a direct quote from Ms. Taylor's instructions:

As a group, from the all individual lists from the group, pick the "best" resource for each of the ten (10) course topics, and describe the criteria for selecting from your combined lists for each of the topics.

For instance, you voted for Victor in section 3. Are you voting for his resource regarding the art expo or his Forbes article? - Jim Rice

Hey Jim! So honestly as we are running out of time I think it would be fine to just vote for a person's entire post. Not only will it give the page a fuller/complete feel but if other classes are posting more then I don't want to be the lot that has a skimpy page. So if someone has two entries, they have two entries. How does that sound? And I'm not even sure if the other people are going to have time to vote? -JS

1. Victor 2. Victor 3. James 4. Victor 5. Jim 6. Victor 7. Lorraine 8. Lorraine 9. Lorraine 10. James

Above are my votes. Thanks to whomever is doing the final tally and page edit. It's appreciated. - Jim Rice

Well someone just posted our link without confirming anything with the group or even voting....so I guess that's the final edit.- JS

Here's a list of the students in our group:

Baraka Ayugi, Emmanuel Balalio, Victor Cornejo, Toni Harris, Duc Huy Nguyen, Wendy O, Carlos Perez, Jim Rice (me), James Santoro, Lorraine Trevino

Up to this point I've only seen about half of us interacting with our page in any way. I should also point out that Mina-Lauren is actually in part of Group 1 so all of her posted resources should be removed. - Jim Rice

I understand someone posted our "final page" but I think we should still revise to only include one topic from one person per section, I wouldn't want to be docked points because we did not follow final directions. Thoughts? - LT

I think that whoever is willing to take on the final vote tally and/or page edit should dictate what it looks like in the end. As much as i feel like having best resource per is what the directions say, I unfortunately do not have the time to tackle it this evening. Once again, to whoever takes it on, i am appreciative of the final result. - Jim Rice

Completed final edit to the best of my ability. If anyone has time and/or wants to review and revise OR add something - feel free. - LT

Thanks Lorraine, you rock. I did go in and remove Mina from the contributors list since she is part of Group 1. - Jim Rice

Thanks, Jim.

Good Luck with any remaining finals, all!
