My name is Jon Vu and I am 24 years old. Currently a student at CSUEB and taking summer courses at De Anza. I made this wiki page for my online class which is CIS2.

The world is on track with meeting the deadline that they wanted to acheive.  Overall poverty rates fell from 46 per cent in 1990 to 27 per cent in 2005.  Between 1990 and 2005 the poverty line of $1.25 a day declined from 1.8 billion to 1.4 billion. There has been great progress and what they are doing is providing results. They have been investing in agriculture in Vietnam, started employment programs in Argentina and have innovative finance schemes in Nigeria and Bangladesh.

The Hunger Program is a global, non-profit organization trying to end world hunger. THP works in 11 different countries to try and teach people self-reliance, meet their own basic needs and build better futures for their children.
The World Bank has two subsidiarys called the International Bank for Reconstruction (IBRD) and Development and the International Development Asssociation (IDA). They also offer help to developing countries through policy advice, research and analysis, and technical assistance. The IBRD trys to reduce poverty in middle income countries, while IDA focuses on the poorest countries.
The Mdgfund trys to help by working with local and national government by speeding up the progress of the Millennium Development Goals. They have 128 joint programs worldwide and where people need it most that is where they put their time and effort in.
