Nursing Topic of Interest

Hi, I am currently attending a course on Wikieducator run by Leigh Blackwell at Otago Polytechnic. I am a Registered Nurse of 25 years, the last ten years of my Nursing Life being spent as the Orthopaedic Nurse Educator at Dunedin Public Hospital. I was also employed by Otago Polytechnic as a 1st year Clinical Tutor on an Arranged Orthopaedic ward again at Dunedin Public Hospital for five years.

Currently however I tutor Computing at the South Dunedin and Mosgiel Community Learning Centres at Otago Polytechnic, a position I have held for the past two years. I also run my own Business Coaching and Consulting Business, A+ Business Solutions.

I have a daughter Devon- 17 years, who is a year 12 student at St. Hildas Collegiate School here in Dunedin, and a son Braeden - 10 years old, who is a Year 5 student at St Clair School.

I enjoy Reading, Netball, Duathlons, Cross-Stitch, Patch work and Gardening. I am an avid fan of the All Blacks - the NZ national Rugby team, the Silver ferns - NZ's national netball team and sport in general. Business Coaching and Consulting

In June 2006 I joined "Boot Camp" on the Gold Coast of the RIBI - Results In Busines Institute- Group. This was a seven day intensive training which changed me from an Orthopaedic Nurse into a Business Coach and Consultant. The training was great, a steep but excellent learning curve, full of plenty of laughs and of course tears too. In the week we always started on the beach at 7am with a group session with a personal trainer, Ross Hancock - one of the principals of RIBI - is convinced of the "Healthy Body Healthy Mind" brigade so made sure we all had to contribute!! It was a great start to every day, when lunches were elaborate and drinking with the group came a compulsory exercise every evening!!

I joined a group of ten Ausis and one other Kiwi, Ray who was ex-army and living in Kakanui. Together we were transformed through a series of training, excellent speakers, and activites to lean, mean Business Coaching machines!!! We were allowed a half day off, when the girls hit the shops and the guys..... well yes they went to the pub!!! Some of the braver ones joined the girls on our shopping fest and then hit the pub!!!
