Introduction
My name is Shaame Matta Shaame. I am an Agricultural Engineer working with Ministry of Agriculture and Natural resources in the Department of Irrigation in Pemba Island.

My duties
My duties include designing irrigation sytems, supervision of engineering activities in the department. This includes land development, construction and surveying.Our current programs in the department includes construction of earth embankment at Micheweni to protect farmers fields from sea water intrusion and construction of irrigation scheme at Makombeni in Pemba Island. Professional interests
My professional intersts is to become good designer of appropriate irrigation sytems which will help farmers to increase production per area and per volume of water used. Also I would like to be more competent in improving water saving techniques in irrigated rice farming.
