Eevery language is situated in a geographical setting and evolves over a period of time.It is very important for a learner of any language to know about the land where the language is spoken and about the people who speak it. Hence,geographical and demographic information,historical development during different era;pre,early, medieveal, modern and Lingusitic profile; Major languagfe community minor language communititwes.
Every language has one or more cultures in which it evolves and in turn helps evolve the culture.Exposure of the audience to the culture of the language will enhance learning ability and will give better understatanding of the concepts of the language concerned. In this context, Folklore, Fine Art and Architecture, Feestivals and Rituals, Food&Dress, Theatre/Performances, Films etc. of the language concerned and the smaller languages in its vic inity will be covered.
By definition every language has a culture whether oral and/or written.Eeposure to the literature allows greater awarness of the language and its rcheness. In this context, oral& written literatures of both Major language/Minor languages will be focused. As far as major languages are concetrned, old, mediveal and modern periods as well as different genre, mile stones;authors/writings will be looked into.
1.4ABOUT LANGUAGE/LANGUAGE TEACHING;
In this area, origin of each language its developments, its status, its relation with other languages, its dialects ect. will be dealt with. Each language in India is situataed among many languages and influences and gets influenced with oter languages. Any language learner has to know these things about language to get a better underastanding about language.
All the language skills will be taught with emphasis on communication pragmatic aspect. target learners are basically speakers of indian languages speakers of any other language could also use them.
All the episodes about language and language teacvhing will be produced byu the central insititute of indian languages in house as well as through outsourcing. If required, the sevices of resource persons, both academic and technical, will be engaged on shift basis as well as through workshop mode to prepared pers
