Athletics Competition
The Athletics competition will be held from 12 to 16 July 2007 (5 Days) . All Athletics events will take place at the Olympic Stadium . The maximum number of athletes who may take part in the Athletics competition at the Games is 300 .
Events
The Athletics competition for disabled will be contested in 25 Men’s and 15 Women’s events (40 in total) .

Rules of Athletics
The organisation of the 9th All Africa Games is governed by the COJA / UCSA / SCSA Host Contract unless otherwise specified. Technical Organisation The Athletics competition for disabled at 9th All Africa Games will be held in accordance with the rules in the IPC Athletics Section Rule Book , the IAAF HANDBOOK 2004 – 2005 and the IPC Handbook in force at the time of the ATHENS 2004 Paralympic Games.
Medals
The prizes for all men’s and women’s events will be awarded at the conclusion of the finals. Athletes who finish within the top three in their events will be escorted to the staging area. In the event that an athlete is selected for doping control, he/she will be chaperoned to the staging area so he/she can participate in the medal ceremony before following doping control procedures. First Place Athletes placing first shall receive a gold medal and a diploma.
Participation
Only an NPC in good standing with the ASCOD may send athletes to compete in the 9TH All Africa Games.
Eligibility Only athletes meeting the eligibility conditions laid down by the IPC Athletics Rules and the 9th All Africa Games Qualification Guide may take part in the 9th All Africa Games .
Nationality All competitors must comply with rules & regulations of SCSA & UCSA.
Qualification Maximum Entry per NPC Individual Events An NPC may enter a maximum of three (3) athletes per event provided they have met the qualification standards .
Relay Events An NPC may enter a maximum of one (1) relay team per event .
