I am Mohamed Turay. I live at 22 Sorietown, Off Crocker Lane in Freetown. I work as a Lecturer at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. I was trained as an Adult Educator, but I am also involved in social work such as human rights, community development, project development, implementation and evaluation, training etc I can demonstrate the following competencies: Design and develop proposals for funding, provide overall leadership of all programmes and projects, monitor and evaluate all projects, design and maintain an effective budgetary monitoring system, prepare reports for donors, establish effective networks and partnerships with stakeholders at national and international levels; Identifying staff training requirements and developing training contents and materials for quarterly staff training, developing job descriptions for junior staff in the Programmes Unit I wrote the following unpublished works: An Examination of the Sierra Leone Youth Policy: A Human Rights Perspective ( Diploma Dissertation of the Commonwealth Programme on Youth in Development Work) An Assessment of the Educative Role of Civil Society Organisations in Sierra Leone: Case Study of Campaign for Good Governance (M.Ed. Dissertation; 2005) The Contribution of the Brethren Vocational Training Institute to Adult Education in Sierra Leone ( Attachment Report for Diploma in Adult Education; 2003) Impact of Major Political Trends on Youth Education in Sierra Leone: Case Study of Texas Community Youths of Central Freetown;(2003) An Assessment of the Changing Political Behaviour of the Young Adult Sierra Leonean (B.A. Dissertation- 2002) I was also lead researcher for the following work: 'Governance Public Perception Survey of Three Constituencies in the Western Area of Sierra Leone (Constituencies 106, 107 and 109): A Research Paper on the Pilot Project: ‘Reconceptualising Governance at the Local Level: Mapping out Workable Initiatives in Local Governance’: – A Project Currently Being Implemented by Campaign for the Voiceless - a civil society organisation based in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
