Introduction
Hi, I'm Mario Marais, a researcher in the ICT in Education, Youth and Gender group of the Meraka Institute, African Advanced Institute for Information & Communication Technology at the CSIR in Pretoria, South Africa. I'm interested in the use of ICT in education and problem structuring via soft operations research techniques. Some recent work included the piloting of technology clubs for children and the application of systems engineering principles to poverty alleviation systems.
I'm also a keen motorbike rider and my picture shows what I look like after a ride on a scrambler through the country roads around Hogsback, a little town in South Africa that is situated on a mountain ridge.
