Martin Kinyua

My Profile

My names are Martin Kinyua. I am currently working with the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) as an Assistant Program Manager. I am working within an innovative e-learning programme that aims to upgrade the skills of 22,000 enrolled nurses from Certificate to Diploma level. Nurses in this cadre are the frontline health workers in Kenya's health system. I am in charge of the IT infrastructure that consists of over 300 computers around the country. In addition, I also develop content from time to time. My interests are diverse and include, IT, development, business, digital divide, golf, technology just to name a few. I have previously worked with AMREF in the Information Services Division where I served as the Systems Administrator and before that, the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) as Systems Administrator. I have a BA degree in Economics and Sociology from the University of Nairobi, certified Microsoft Systems Engineer, qualified accountant and currently taking an online course in Internet Governance. I will also be pursuing a Masters degree in Technology Policy later this year.
