Mathias Eseoghene Jarikre is currently Lecturer II/Course Coordinator II with the Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution Unit in the School of Arts and Social Sciences of the National Open University of Nigeria. Born on 6th June, hails from Emevor in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State and is happily married with four children. He is a devout Christian, communicant and Warden of the Anglican Communion. He had a stint at the private sector and public service between 1998 and 2009 as Marketing Manager East and Administrative Officer, Dickie Industries Limited, Port Harcourt and the Unified Local Government Service of Delta State, respectively. He also served as Country Coordinator of Africa Development and Merit Award Council (ADMAC).

Mr. Jarikre holds a bachelor and master degrees in Theatre Arts from the Universities of Port Harcourt and Ibadan respectively, also, a Master of Personnel Psychology (M.P.P) from the University of Ibadan. As a result of the perennial domestic fragmentations in the Niger Delta and the dire need to build capacity for its resolution in addition to personal conviction that the resolution lies in the hands of the Niger Delta people, he proceeded to obtain a master degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, in 2005, from the University of Ibadan, where he is also a Ph.D student. Since 2008, he has served as Research Assistant to the Delta State Technical Committee on the Niger Delta. Also, he is a member of the Society for Peace Study and Practice (SPSP). Mathias Jarikre
