My profile
Let me introduce myself. My name is Mary Lynn Manton from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Below you will find out a bit more about me.
Professional background
I am currentlythe coordinator for a degree program (Informatics & Security) at Seneca College in Toronto. Prior to joining Seneca College, I worked in industry for a Canadian retailer for 19 years in various positions: programmer analyst, data base administrator, project manager and various management positions.
Education
In 1976 my father thought it would be a good idea to go into 'computers'. Well, 34 years later his vision has led me on an amazing journey working in Information Technology!
My interests
My motorcycle! A gift from my husband this past winter. I love camping, travelling (without camping!), music, and sports. I can watch sports 24/7.
Personal
I've been married for just shy of 23 years and have 2 children. A son who is entering 4th year University and a daughter who is entering 3rd year University. Great kids. Both have varied interests who have all been very activity in sports. I have a 9 year old Parsons Jack Russell terrier who is full of personality.
My wiki projects
- I registered for eL4C41, a Learning4Content workshop to learn wiki skills. I also (blindly - like I really know what I'm doing!) maintain two wikis for the degree program I coordinate as well as a wiki for an open source conference I've taken over as Chair.
My optional community service (learning contract) project
Agreement |
By signing this optional learning contract I will try to complete my training in basic wiki editing skills to achieve the status of a Wikibuddy. In return for this free training opportunity, I will give the gift of knowledge by donating or developing at least one free content resource licensed under a CC-BY-SA or CC-BY license which can be used by myself (and others) on WikiEducator. |
