My profile

Trained in the teaching of English as a second language, I joined the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, India at its inception in 1986. After serving the University as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Distance Education/Assistant Director, Regional Services Division, I joined the University of the West Indies Distance Education Centre (UWIDEC), Barbados in 1998 as Curriculum Development Specialist. In 2004, I returned to India and joined the Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) as Professor & Head, School of Humanities with additional responsibilities as Director, Student Support Services Division.

I have created/designed about 50 self-learning materials in English & distance education which are being used as course materials at the IGNOU/TNOU. In addition, I have conducted more than 200 orientation programmes/workshops in many aspects of ODL both in India and oversees for the clientele ranging from scientists, teachers to farmers.
