Rosh Hashanah
Rosh Hashanah is Jewish holiday. Rosh Hashanah occurs on the first and second days of "Tishri". In Hebrew, Rosh Hashanah means, literally, "head of the year" or "first of the year. It's commonly known as the Jewish New Year.
There is, however, one important similarity between the Jewish New Year and the American one: Many Americans use the New Year as a time to plan a better life, making "resolutions. The Jewish new year is the time to begin introspection, looking back at the mistakes of the past year and planning the changes to make in the new year.
No work is permitted on Rosh Hashanah. Much of the day is spent in synagogue, where the regular daily liturgy is somewhat expanded. In fact, there is a special prayer book called the "machzor" used for Rosh Hashanah and "Yom Kippur" because of the extensive liturgical changes for these holidays.
A popular observance during this holiday is eating apples dipped in honey, a symbol of our wish for a sweet new year. Another popular observance is "Tashlikh" ("casting off"). We walk to flowing water, such as a creek or river, on the afternoon of the first day and empty our pockets into the river, symbolically casting off our sins.
Finally, Rosh Hashanah is created to forgive our friends and to ask forgiveness form our friends and family.
The days of Rosh Hashanah is calling " Hodesh Slihot"( months of forgiving).
Yom kippur
Yom Kippur occur in "10 be Tishrei". Yom Kippur is considered by Jewish tradition the holiest and the most solemn and important day of the year. In this day we ask forgiving from our friends and family. Eating, drinking, bathing, anointing with oil and marital relations are prohibited. The fasting begin in the sunset and ends after nightfall in the next following day. The first prayer calls "Kol Nidrei" which must be recited before sunset. The second prayer is "The Shema"; there are more 3 prayers in "Yom Kippur".
This holiday is the Day of Atonement .Yom Kippur marks the end of the “Ten Days of Repentance” or the “High Holidays,” and give to the Jewish the last opportunity to obtain forgiveness and absolution for their sins in the previous year. Some believe that in this holiday Moses came down from Mt. Sinai with the second set of the Ten Commandments.
Even that most of the Jewish people in Israel is not religious observant, Yom Kippur has and remains a special day for all. Many Jewish who define themselves as secular and do not visit the synagogue all year long, go to prayer services on this special day, and many also observe the fast, completely or partially.
On Yom Kippur there is almost no traffic on the roads, and many families go for walks along the city streets.
In the Jewish cities everything is closed, there is no public transport and the atmosphere is different than in regular days.
Sukkoth
Four days after "Yom Kippur", we celebrate Sukkoth. The holiday is celebrated from the 15th of Tishri through the 21st or 22nd of Tishri, depending if you live in Israel or in the Diaspora.
Sukkoth is called "The Time of our Rejoicing". We build a temporary booth that called succa and we are happy sit in our Succa, together with our family, eating, singing, telling stories -- just like in the days of old, when we first left Egypt, and lived in tents in the desert, while God protected us with His "Clouds of Glory".
The remaining days of Sukkoth are called "Kol HaMoed"; the last day of Sukkoth is called "Hoshana Raba".The Four Species also called "Arba Minim" :
Lulav (לולב) –a ripe, green, closed frond from a date palm tree.
Hadass (הדס) –boughs with leaves from the myrtle tree.
Aravah (ערבה) –branches with leaves from the willow tree.
Etrog (אתרוג) –the fruit of a citron tree.
The day immediately following Sukkoth is also a holiday, called "Shmini Atzeret" "Eighth Day of Assembly". Outside of Israel, this "Yom Tov" extends two days, with the second day designated as "Simhat Torah". This is when we finish reading the final portion of the Torah and begin a new cycle. We dance around in the synagogue, holding the Torah scrolls, expressing joy in our treasured Torah.

Elephants and tsunami
When we hear the word "tsunami" we immediately think about the disaster and the victims.
In the tsunami people and animals get hurt and even die. Property is damaged.
The elephants can warn us with different signs and sounds.
They either can feel or sense the vibration in the earth before a tsunami comes. They can predict an earthquake.
However, the elephants are not always correct in their predictions. They can to make mistakes sometimes.
On the other hand, there is technology.
With computers and special machines that can predict waves on earth, specialists can warn the people in certain countries about what is going to happen.

Israel and the war
Hello!
How are you?
You might be wondering about the situation of Israel in the last days. For nine years the civilian people in the south of Israel have suffered from the launching of Grad and Qassam missiles(rocket artillery system).During this period Israel has been bombarded by thousands of rockets.
In the last eight days we are in a war situation. Our forces entered GAZA eight days ago and yesterday our (military) infantry and tanks entered and bombed the targets of the Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement). We have to stop the launching of rockets; therefore we started defending ourselves from the ongoing Hamas attacks in the south of the country. We have nothing against Palestinians and the civilian people!
We are at war only with the Hamas!
In Gaza Strip-in a radius of 40 kilometers kids cannot go to school because of the rockets that the Hamas is shooting.
Our soldiers are protecting the civilian people from the Hamas. We have no other choice! If we would not destroy them, they would continue shooting bombs that would eventually destroy us. I think that your government would do the same if they were in the same situation as we are.
(: Excellent composition, Keren. You have made your points very clear. --Nellie Deutsch 13:09, 4 January 2009 (UTC))

Hypnosis- Advantages
Hypnosis is a scientific way to make the person (patient) be under the therapists' control.
The patient is in a deep sleep, but he wouldn’t do something that he dislikes.
Hypnosis has a few advantages:
- Make people recover from addictions like alcoholism, addiction to smoke, drugs and gamble.
- Some people have phobias. The hypnosis can help people overcome from different phobias like: fear from pets, claustrophobia and from heights.
- The therapists can help people that undergo surgery. To overcome their pain, we use hypnosis and even it can disappear after that.
Disadvantages:
The patient can fall into a deep sleep. He may not wake up from the sleep. It's the nightmare of all the therapists!
