My passion

Helping the freedom culture in developing a free version of the entire education curriculum by 2015.

Who am I

My full names are Captain Kelvin Mukolo Kayombo (Rtd). I used to work as an avionics engineer in the Zambia Air Force before retiring after changing career to the accountancy field. I will be turning 40 later this year and I hope 'life will begin' as they say.


I am a member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants [http://www.zica.co.zm (ZICA).

I live in Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia. I love this country very much.

My job and employer

I am currently working as a lecturer at the Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS), Lusaka , Zambia. I have been working for this organisation for four years now. Before that I worked in two audit firms and before that in the Zambia Air Force (ZAF).

Over the last four years I have lectured at the professional levels of leading professional accountancy bodies such as the ACCA and CIMA. I have specialised in corporate governance, risk management and auditing subjects.

My employer, ZCAS is the only ACCA Platinum rated training provider in Africa at the moment. I enjoy my job as a lecturer.


My interests and hobbies

These include:

  • Reading, which I must do anyway because of the nature of my job and career development
  • Watching soccer, particularly the English premier League ( I am a gunners supporter)
  • Playing pool
