WEB 2.0 TRAINING BY CTA IN COLLABORATION WITH MINAGRI/ CICA

Monday 10th October 2011 started a 5-day training being held at La Palisse Hotel Nyandungu. The training is organized by the Technical Center for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA)

CTA is an ACP-EU institution working in the field of information for development, its headquarters are in The Netherlands. CTA was given the challenging task of improving the flow of information among stakeholders in agricultural and rural development in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.

- The training was officially opened by DG planning in MINAGRI Rurangwa Raphael, and is attended by MINAGRI communication and IT staff from agencies and project. The conference has the main objective of improving the use of Web 2.0 for development.
According to Raphael, the training comes as a key solution for information management challenges that most of the communicators and *ICT staff meet. He said ”Agriculture as a big development sector needs strong communication that matches with new technologies.” he added that the skills that trainees will get within 5 days, should be transferred to others. “You will be trained to train others about this new technology.”
