My profile

I am Uzebba Christiana Kanu (nee Angus- Olaghere). I live in Freetown, Sierra Leone. I am a Lecturer in the Department of Geography, Faculty of Pure and Applied Science, Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.Most of my time is spent in the field doing research or conducting field exercises for and with students. I am an environmentalist working on conservation issues and how they affect the lives and livelihoods of local people. I have a Bachelor degree in Honours Geography, two Masters degrees in Geography and the Environment and Rural Development. I am currently working on my PhD on Forest Resource Management in Sierra Leone. I am looking at two initiatives the Gola Conservation Program and Environmental Protection Agency. I have represented the Government of Sierra Leone on conflict talks on Border Security Issues between Sierra Leone and Guinea. I was the Chair of the Joint Technical Committee on border security issues on Yenga until 2008. I helped draft the National Population and Housing Census Manual in 2002. I am a member of the DelpHe higher education link program.
