Hi :-).
In a past life I was a Java developer and evangelist for the language which promised huge productivity gains as compared with C/C++ and platform independence.
During my time in that world I was most inspired by frameworks such as Cocoon, Struts and other Jakarta projects.
Design patterns and agile methodologies[1] came to the fore during that time and I still try to apply some of the principles in other contexts.
Subsequently my focus shifted towards advocacy of free software and libre knowledge both with an emphasis on education.
Hoping to have some fun at the symposium.
Looking forward to whatever transpires.
