"Police recruitment" wall art / grafitti - Auckland on my stopover there after the OERu founder meeting Nov. 2011 |
I am living and working in New England in North America at a college in Manchester, New Hampshire. This is despite being originally from Old(e) England where I was born and raised in Newcastle (as in Brown Ale / United), and went to college in Manchester, Lancashire (as in The Smiths and New Order)...
My Role at Southern New Hampshire University
My current title at SNHU (Southern New Hampshire University) is within the SNHU Innovation Lab where I am the Leader for Learning and Development. Our mission in this newly formed section / division? is to develop programs and systems that increase access for under-served populations, while looking to disrupt and "blow up" (President Paul LeBlanc's words) the very system that spawned us. As you can imagine, we are much loved at traditional faculty socials and curriculum committee meetings !!
Joking aside, our challenge is extremely motivating. I have maintained a blog record of what we've been doing and what we've acheived on my personal blog kevinbell.wordpress.com The main page of my blog tends to be more my random musings, but the Innovation Lab link takes you to notes that latterly have referred to our partnering work with The Urban League of Boston and our application for Gates Next Gen IIIB grant funding. We will hear back from Gates ("Bill, can I call you back..") early-mid March as to whether we make the first cut and get through to the playoffs.
