Heath started his career as a resource developer and illustrator for School Support Services then moved into teaching where he spent 16 years as a classroom Teacher and Primary School Principal. 

Other roles have included being the National ICT Community Facilitator for Te Kete Ipurangi the education portal for NZ Schools and as a National facilitator for the Ministry of Education for ePortfolio development. 
  Also, as an ICT Cluster facilitator for the ICTPD Ministry contracts and self employed doing contract work for a variety of organisations like Careers New Zealand in programme and resource development.  

Specialist skills include online teaching and facilitation, curriculum design, eportfolios and reflective practice and mentoring, Adult Education, Inquiry based education and mobile learning.  He is currently developing his capability in visual language and Te Reo / Tikanga Maaori.
